Limitations of the model

BULAC allows modeling the energy matrix of Latin American countries; however, it has the following limitations:

• The model has no dispatch optimization functions.

• The model approach is exploratory.

• The model omits the power grid from its analysis (e.g., line loadability, or frequency and voltage stability) and sub-hourly analysis (has annual resolution).

User Guide

The user guide is intended to provide guidance to its users on the functions of this tool, such as entering parameters, configuring scenarios, and running the model. For this study, the model is calibrated using Python processing of the OLADE database of both installed capacity and energy balances. Feel free to adjust the formatting or add more sections as needed. Save this content in a file.
